Marilyn Beckett

When I retired 2 years ago the first thing I did was to go on a course to learn the basics of quilting and I have been quilting ever since. I am experimenting with different techniques, such as cathedral windows, English paper piecing (which I love) and enjoy hand quilting and machine quilting. I haven't mastered free motion quilting but have booked a course at the end of the month. So watch this space to see how I get on!

In my 'previous life' I was a nurse and specialised in Ophthalmology, when working I dabbled in sewing and crafts but big projects I always promised myself that I could do these things when I retired. So between keeping an eye on my elderly mother, our beautiful grandchildren having sleepovers and caravanning with my husband, I spend the rest of my time sewing.
