Having sewn for most of my life, I have been quilting now for almost 25 years and have had enormous fun being able to share my interests with many others around the country, as well as internationally. I have taught workshops and classes for the past 20 years but, due to unpredictable arthritis, this has regrettably curbed the travelling I am now able to do.
I am passionate about hand quilting and have now designed several Block of the Month projects for both the Quilters Guild and a magazine which, I hope, will encourage many to dust off their needles and thread to have a go. A new Redwork sampler wallhanging (downloadable) pattern is being launched by Region 9 at the beginning of April 2017.
I am also very keen on making miniature quilts. They are little treasures and a very good way of trying out new patterns before making them up full size.
Although I am no longer fully active in teaching and giving talks, I can always be tempted by an interesting project. I am very happy for anyone to contact me if they want advice and/or help with their projects which may involve any aspect of hand quilting, both in stitch or design. You can also visit my website jacquieharvey.co.uk where you will find several videos demonstrating some stitches you may find useful.
