Hilary Hale

I have been doing some form of needlecraft for nearly as long as I can remember, embroidery on Binca, knitting, a gingham apron at junior school, some dress making at senior school & knitting. Some 40+ years ago, I did some hexagon patchwork over card (because my mother thought that paper was too flimsy). This developed into a knitting bag. Flushed with success on this I started a bed quilt in hexagons - the top was finished a couple of years ago & is waiting to be layered & quilted.

For some years I knitted & embroidered, until in the 1990s somebody re-introduced me to patchwork. Since then I have decided that my first love is hand quilting.
