Debi Wilkinson

Hi - I am Debi, and I joined the Guild just over a year ago, having got into patchwork and quilting at the grand old age of 60! I am now passionate about it and have a number of projects on the go which include a wall hanging and two cushion covers, a bird silhouette wall hanging and several ideas for smaller projects. Once they are in a photographable state I will upload pics of them. My next project will be a cot quilt for our new baby granddaughter Astrid and is based on a vintage hearts and floral design. However, I am finding this a bit daunting and haven't got any further than looking at the instructions and cutting a few pieces out so far! I have attended a few 1-day workshops to date, and have found these invaluable. I have also attended a workshop at Hampton Court Palace on embroidery and am very interested in embellishing quilts with hand and machine embroidery. I will update this page from time to time, with added pics, but any tips or help would be really appreciated.
To tell you a little about me - I am married, for the second time around, and we have 4 lovely kids between us aged 25 to 38, three boys and a girl, of which two boys are mine. One is married and the other lives with his partner and their little boy who is now 3 years old. Until recently I worked full-time but am now at home and have just set up a new home and garden décor business called Fleur Home and hope this will take off in the next year or so. I am also keen to promote my own and others' hand made crafts and quilts on the site so would be happy to hear from anyone on that score. The website is http://www.fleurhome.co.uk and my email for that is .
I have set up a patchwork/quilting/sewing group in my area (Oxted/Limpsfield in Surrey) called SQuilters, short for Saturday Quilters, and we meet on the first Saturday in the month in the Hurst Green area. If you are interested in coming along to see what we do or joining us then contact me at
